Before signing a franchise agreement, you will receive a Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), as required by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). This document contains the franchisor’s background, fee structures, litigation history, and territory rights. TimBuild also provides detailed cash flow projections and budgets for the first three years to help you make an informed decision.
Yes. TimBuild emphasises that location is the cornerstone of success. They provide expert guidance on selecting sites with high traffic and visibility. Furthermore, Adele Baard, the Operations Manager, provides professional store layout, yard and machine shop management to ensure your space is optimised for customer flow, lighting (500–800 lux), and efficient yard management.

The process follows a transparent, CPA-compliant path:
- Complete an application form and undergo credit/background checks.
- Attend an interview.
- Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to receive the FDD and Franchise Agreement.
- Observe a 14-day mandatory disclosure period to review all documents.
- Sign the agreement, followed by a 10-day cooling-off period.
- Begin training and launch preparation.
Yes. Successful conversion or setup requires investment in franchise standards. This includes upgrades to signage, shelving, merchandising systems, and interior layout to ensure the store meets TimBuild’s branding and operational requirements.
Territory rights are detailed in your individual franchise agreement. This outlines whether you have exclusive rights to a specific geographic area, which is vital in the hardware industry to prevent market saturation and ensure your store’s long-term viability.
